ABOUT SCHLUETER, KWIAT & KENNEDY

Schlueter, Kwiat & Kennedy LLLP is a general practice firm in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawai'i.  The Firm has five lawyers and significant experience representing clients in many fields of law.  The result is a firm with diversity in experience allowing for effective representation over a spectrum of practice areas.  

In 2014, Michael H. Schlueter left the Kona Prosecutor's Office to start his own firm.  Shortly thereafter he was joined by fellow Kona deputy prosecuting attorney, Jason R. Kwiat.  In 2018 Andrew Kennedy from the Kona branch of the Hawai'i Public Defender's office joined the Firm.

Eli N. Bowman joined the Firm in 2020, and was named partner in 2024.  In 2023 Nicole K. Bowman retired from the Kona Prosecutor's Office to join the Firm.

The Firm maintains an active role in the community, including multiple members serving as presidents of the West Hawai'i Bar Association.  The Firm donates annually to the State of Hawai'i Access to Justice pro bono essay contest, providing an annual scholarship contribution to a high school student from the Big Island.  Other philanthropic ventures include support for local sports, including Hilo High School Vikings baseball, and the arts, to include supporting the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra.  The Firm supports the Hawai'i Island Humane Society.

The attorneys at Schlueter, Kwiat & Kennedy have spent a great number of hours representing clients and litigating matters in the courtroom.  We are comfortable in the courtroom should we be unable to resolve the issue any other way.
